The National Library of Scotland contains the papers of Dr Andrew Buchanan Macdonald, Founder and Medical Superintendent of the Itu Leper Colony, Nigeria. They include the typescripts of three manuscripts: "This is my life" of "A Doctor in Nigeria" (which was published as In This Name: the Story of a Doctor in Nigeria, London: Oldbourne P, 1964), "Founding of a Leper Colony", and "Nigeria Leprosy Services Recommendations". There are three radio scripts relating to publication of his manuscript with Oldbourne Press and also miscellaneous correspondence from Itu, Nigeria, 1927-37.

In addition, the library holds a minute book of the Roxburgh Deira Leper Auxiliary 1910-18, whose object was to assist the Mission to Lepers.
