    Professor Gan-yun Ye (also Ganyun) (1924-2013) was a Chinese dermatologist and venereologist.

    He graduated from the Medical College of Beijing University in 1948, and stayed on at the college as an assistant professor, researching in leprosy and venereal disease control, as well as scientific research on epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and social medicine of leprosy and venereal diseases.

    He helped to set up the National Institute of Dermatology in Beijing (later the Institute of Dermatology, CAMS) in 1953. He advised the Ministry of Health on leprosy and venereal disease control.

    He was Councillor of the International Leprosy Association from 1988-1998. He has been a member of the WHO Advisory Panel on Leprosy, Editor-in-Chief of the China Leprosy Journal, Contributing Editor of the International Journal of Leprosy and Deputy to the Sixth and Seventh National People's Congress, P R China. He worked with Dr Ma Haide and they published several papers in the IJL, Leprosy Review and the India Journal of Leprosy. He edited and published Chemotherapy of Leprosy.

    Gan-yun received the Advanced Worker on Leprosy Control award from the Ministry of Public Health, China, in 1998. He has visited and participated in scientific meetings in England, USA, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, India, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Brazil, Burma and the Philippines, for exchanging experiences on leprosy control.
