    Notes

State Records New South Wales holds records of the Board of Health, which was set up to implement policy and advise on matter concerning public health. It was composed of medical practitioners, lay members and government officials. From 1913, the Director General of Public Health was President of the Board. It was responsible for supervising the carrying out of the provisions of various acts, including the Leprosy Act of 1890. The Board was abolished in 1973 and its functions were taken over by the Advisory Board of Health.
