Profile
Served in the navy, and when he was 17 he contracted Hansen’s disease and entered a sanatorium. He felt that he could not live without a hobby, and remembered that when he was a child his teachers in school praised him for being good at drawing, so he started painting. He painted with the spirit of wanting to leave something behind as proof of his life. He also played the trombone in the Tokyo Orchestra. He would talk about how music and art have a common sensitivity. |
