    Notes

    The Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation (GMLF) has been working since 1951 and has acted as guide to NLFP over this time. At present it works in three states having three control units, three hospitals, a training centre, a unit of health education and production of health education material. There is a centre for social science research on leprosy. GMLF has established the International Gandhi Award for recognition of excellent work in the field of leprosy. There are uncatalogued administrative records including patients' records dating from 1951. There is a resource library which contains many books, journals and periodicals relating to leprosy.
