State Records New South Wales holds records of the Board of Health, which was set up to implement policy and advise on matter concerning public health. It was composed of medical practitioners, lay members and government officials. From 1913, the Director General of Public Health was President of the Board. It was responsible for supervising the carrying out of the provisions of various acts, including the Leprosy Act of 1890. Records of the Office of the Director General of Public Health prior to 1923 were destroyed a number of years ago. The Board was abolished in 1973 and its functions were taken over by the Advisory Board of Health.

NRS 4859, Leprosy case files (1903-43), two boxes, which contain files relating to leprosy cases in New South Wales, including information about the admission, treatment and death or discharge of patients.
