    National Archives, Helsinki hold documents that are relevant to leprosy in the following archives:

    • Lääkintöhallituksen Arkisto (Archive of the National Board of Health) contains the official administrative documentation (hospitals, patients, diseases, facilities)
    • Rakennushallituksen Arkisto (Archive of the Board Building) contains the official administrative documentation (buildings, crown land of the state)
    • Maanmittaushallituksen Arkisto (Archive of the National Board of Survey) contains geographical maps, including the title to the hospital of Seili in Nauvo (1811), and probably maps concerning other hospitals too
    • Porvoon Tuomiokapitulin Arkisto (Archives of the Diocese of Porvoo) contains administrative documentation of the communities in the south western archipelago, including Seili, where the most famous old leprosaria was situated on an island in the middle of the Archipelago Sea
