    Notes

    Most of the holdings of the Archivo de la Diputacion de Teruel [Archive of the Delegation of Teruel] have been conserved after 1938.

    Apart from this, four documentary series created in the nineteenth century are preserved. These include:

    • Books of acceptance of abandoned and orphan children beginning in 1812 (The first of these books proceeds from the former “Casa de Misericordia” [Welfare asylum for the poor and sick]. Afterwards books proceed from the Beneficencia which came under the authority of the Delegation as a result of the Provincial Law of the Beneficencia of 1855)
    • Records of acceptance and admission of the Provincial Asylum, from 1849
    • Records of feeding of assisted children, from 1873
    • Historical records of assisted people, from 1888

    Leprosy Records

    (Date: January the 10th [enero 10], 1326. Place: Teruel)

    The judges of Teruel communicate to all the judges of the community that all the people affected by leprosy and infected in Teruel province have to lodge in the house of San Lázaro [Lazaretus] located in the city.
