Archivo Historico Provincial de Badajoz [Historical Archive in Badajoz]

The Archivo Histórico Provincial de Badajoz holds all the documentation related to the old hospitals, health care, charity and welfare institutions since the sixteenth century. This is mainly administrative, legal and financial documentation. This includes a series of boxes that were transferred to the Archive together with the Civil Government Holdings. One of the Sections of the Archive includes welfare and health care activities developed by public and private associations. Moreover, the general clinical records of the Hospital de San Sebastián are also kept in the Archivo Histórico Provincial de Badajoz, including all type of patients; infectious and leprosy patients.
