    Reider Schoyen Melsom, (1899- ) was a physician at Pleiestiftelsen for Spedalske no. 1 in Bergen, Norway, from 1943 to 1957. From 1957 to 1969 he was local health officer in Eastern Norway and succeeded Dr. Lie as physician in charge of leprosy for Bergen. He had an extensive knowledge of the history of leprosy in Scandinavia and administrated various leprosy programs in Norway.
