Founded in 1949 by Mgr Francis T Roche with the help of three sisters of the Institute of Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM).
The hospital provides in-patient care for the treatment of leprosy, and physiotherapy to prevent deformities or to correct them. Approximately half the ‘patients’ are permanent residents, who are disabled and rejected by their families.
