The library of the University of Airlangga in Surabaya, divided over three campus locations, contains the library of the former Dutch Indies Medical School [Nederlands Indische Artsenschool]. It contains many old journals on dermatology and the journals of the Geneeskundig Tijdschrift Nederlandsch-Indië, in which articles on colonial leprosy appear. A whole floor is devoted to the collection of the medical library during colonial times. This collection provides a clear picture of what leprologists were studying in the colonial period. It is located in the vicinity of the General Soetomo Hospital and the Leprosy Study Group of Tropical Diseases Center, where Professor Indropo Agusni and Shinzu Izumi work on leprosy.
