Federico Lleras Acosta, DVM (1878-1938) was a Colombian doctor of veterinarian medicine who achieved great renown through work done in relation with the culture of the leprosy bacilli from blood of leprosy patients. He also worked on tests to show the specificity of bacilli isolated from the blood of leprosy patients.
